The Diocese of Chikmagalur joyously marked the
inauguration of Jubilee 2025 with a solemn and
faith-filled ceremony held at St. Joseph's
Cathedral, on Sunday, 29-12-2024. The grand
occasion began with a procession bringing the
Jubilee Cross from St. Joseph's Convent to the
Cathedral. Faithful from all walks of life,
including clergy, religious, and laity,
participated in the procession, carrying the
Cross with devotion and reverence, symbolizing
unity and renewal in Christ.
Upon the arrival of the procession at the
Cathedral, Most Rev. Dr. T. Anthony Swamy,
Bishop of Chikmagalur, inaugurated the Jubilee
by ceremoniously opening the door of the
Cathedral. This symbolic act was met with great
jubilation and marked the beginning of the
Jubilee Year, a time of grace, reflection, and
spiritual renewal for the diocese.
Following this, the banner of the Jubilee which
contained the logo of Jubilee 2025 was unveiled,
adding to the joy and significance of the event.
The unveiling of the banner symbolized the
official commencement of the Jubilee
celebrations, inspiring the faithful to actively
participate in the journey of faith.
On the same day, the Jubilee Year was
inaugurated in all the churches of the Diocese
by unveiling the banner which contained the logo
of Jubilee 2025. This diocesan-wide celebration
united the faithful across parishes in a shared
spirit of joy and renewal.
During the event, the prayer for the Jubilee was
recited by all, creating a profound sense of
unity and shared purpose among the faithful.
Following the inauguration, a solemn Holy Mass
was celebrated by Bishop Anthony Swamy. The
Eucharistic celebration was a profound
expression of thanksgiving, with the faithful
gathered in large numbers to pray and partake in
the spiritual blessings of the Jubilee. In his
homily, the Bishop emphasized the significance
of the Jubilee as a moment to renew faith,
deepen relationships within the Church, and
reach out to those in need, embodying the love
of Christ.
The program was meticulously organized under the
leadership of Fr. Adarsh, the Convener of the
Jubilee. His dedication and efforts ensured the
smooth conduct of the event, which was attended
by a large gathering of clergy, religious, and
lay faithful.
The Diocese of Chikmagalur extends its heartfelt
gratitude to all who contributed to the success
of this inaugural event. The Jubilee 2025

activities and initiatives aimed at spiritual
growth and community building. The diocese looks

members as it journeys together in faith, hope,
and love.
